Biography
Makala L. Furse is an associate whose practice is primarily focused on environmental law, personal injury, product liability, toxic tort, and trucking and transportation. She is very skilled in legal research and writing and has experience in class action litigation matters.
Makala earned her J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2021. At the University of Florida, she received the President’s Scholarship, the Pro Bono Excellence Award, and the Dean’s Leadership Award. She also frequently placed on the dean’s list and graduated cum laude. During her final year at the University of Florida, she served as the Editor-In-Chief for the Florida Law Review. Makala received her Master of Social Work degree in 2018 from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, where she served as the social chair for the MSW Student Alliance. She received her Bachelor of Social Work from Florida State University in 2016. Makala, during her time at Florida State University, often found herself on the dean’s list, was a recipient of the Bright Futures Scholarship and the Take Stock in Children Scholarship, and was a member of the National Society for Collegiate Scholars and the Phi Alpha Social Work Honor Society.
